Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

I'm testing Ubuntu 8.10 beta live CD.

When I load the GNOME desktop, I can see that the Human theme is not
loaded. The window title bars are blue instead of brown/orange, and the
icons aren't the Human ones.

When I try to open System->Preferences->Appearance, I get the following

GNOME."

Ad-hoc translation:

"Couldn't start "gnome-settings-daemon" settings manager..."

However, if you try to open System->Preferences->Appearance again, then
the Human theme is applied, all changes from blue to orange and the
icons changes to Human ones.

** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
