I have since obtained the new full version of Ubuntu from the source in
Holland and have installed it. It is wonderful but I still can't run
some Java programs as it tells me that it isn't installed.  It shows
that I have Java 5 installed but I can not seem to upgrade it to 7. When
I get an upgrade notice in Mozilla Firefox it downloads the upgrade but
can not install it.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

This message appears anytime I try to install plug-ins or even try to upgrade
from 7.10 I downloaded the full 8.04 but even when I try to copy to cd it fails.
Update Manager is the package. I am using Ubuntu 7.10- The Gutsy Gibbon
released October 2007. It was installed at the wholesale vendor for me using my
mboard and 64 dual core processor AMD on a SATA drive.
