I'm sorry if I don't give you more info, but I'm no expert and this is the first time I file a bug... + + I could reproduce the same effect on 8.04 (kubuntu) following this + procedure: + + 1) normal boot + 2) install binary driver with automatic procedure + 3) setup desktop effect + 4) install 2.6.27-rc3 + 5) reboot with the new kernel + + My (naive) guess is that something goes wrong when the desktop is + configured to use 3d acceleration and the corresponding driver is not + found.
