Public bug reported:

What happens is that USB (mouse, pen drive, external HD) is not working at all
in Edgy whenever I choose kernel 2.6.17-10-386 from grub.
With kernel 2.6.15-27-386 USB behave (almost) properly only if there isn't any
USB device plugged during the boot process. I said almost because SD cards in
the card reader (that in Dapper used to work perfectly) are not even detected
when plugged. USB pen drive, and HD are working fine instead.

I upgraded from Dapper, but with the Edgy Stable Desktop CD I
experimented the same problem just after the boot.

PS. I'm not feeling very comfortable with this platform because it's my
first try to contribute with bug reporting since I started using Ubuntu.
That's why useful information could be missing. Please just tell me what
you may need and I will do my best to help you with the work.
