Public bug reported:

Hi,

On two machines, a laptop and a desktop, running sudo update-manager -c
-d fails to upgrade from 8.04.1 to 8.10 beta. Both systems are emt64
Intel's with core duo chips. Both are System76 machines. I've attached
my dist-upgrade logs. The problem appears to be unmet dependencies.

Installing with the beta CD works fine and is the solution to fix the
broken state of the computer (just ensure you don't format the disks and
that you do assign the drives correctly).

Joey
