In my case the bug is located in nvidia-glx-177. I use a Sony 46 inch TV to watch movies in dual view. After log-in into Ubuntu the right resolution is shown on the TV screen for just a second. Then, the background image becomes smaller but I can still move the move across the whole screen. But trying to start a movie player (smplayer and vlc tested) leeds to a crash of some gnome applications. So I cant play movies on the laptop (vostro 1500 with Geforce 8400) or on the tv.
I tried using the 173 driver which resulted in a complete crash of the display, which I had to repair. Getting back to 177 was quite hard, I had to remove the driver firstr and then use the console to instal it again.... For me this bug is quite critical as I can't watch my movies any more :-(( -- Nvidia driver not working with dual screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154049 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
