Honestly, I am pretty new to ubuntu (and linux) so i can only try to help as much as I can ...
I remember updating this package before this crash occured. Also I know I have restarted my computer after the update before trying this. I don't have hardy since it doesn't support quite a few of my hardware (new sony vgn-fw180D). I tried the same procedures again and the same problem continues ...
