could you please try to load your iwl3945 or iwl4965 driver with
disable_hw_scan=1 like:
modprobe -v -r iwl3945
modprobe -v iwl3945 disable_hw_scan=1
or
modprobe -v -r iwl4965
modprobe -v iwl4965 disable_hw_scan=1
