I am experiencing the same since installing Ubuntu 8.10, in hardy everything was alright. The annoying thing is, that this codec-missing box appears at every start of rhythmbox. Other mp3-players like audacious or banshee play these files without problems. i think gstreamer needs a better handling of corrupt mp3-files. Or a possibility to deactivate this codec search dialog for known and installed codecs, to prevent this box from appearing at every rhythmbox start
