I confirm this bug on intrepid beta (KUbuntu). But I add that my joystick is not really stable: I mean that the x/y value are constantly changing even when I do not touch it. This is a problem in my joystick. But once in KDE, it made the mouse constantly recenter itself automatically in the center of the screen. So if I want to reach any icon or menu with the mouse pointer, I have to be fast enough before the cursor recenters itself. This is really really annoying as not only there is the X crash when pressing a button, but it makes the computer nearly unusable (no mouse)...
