ls -al from the needed files:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2006-11-09 12:08 /dev/cdrom -> hdc
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 22, 0 2006-11-09 12:07 /dev/hdc
If you need anything else please let me know, because it worked under
dapper half a year ago and now it does not work under dapper and edgy.
