Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-6-generic

Since upgrading to Intrepid I've been experiencing a weird system
freeze. If I leave my computer alone for a day, it will usually be
frozen when I come back. Sometimes, but rarely, the freeze will occur
while I'm using the computer. If this occurs then the last second or so
of sound will repeat indefinitely. The mouse can not be moved and the
screen remains completely frozen.

I hadn't seen any log output from this freeze until last night, when the
freeze occurred about an hour into a stress test I was running to check
my hardware. I have attached the output. It begins with the first error,
and continues until the system froze (I can tell from when the clock
stopped) 20 minutes later. The stress test did not report any
irregularities, and memtest86 has verified that my memory is all ok.

Also I am concerned as to why chipcardd4 is so active? There seems to be
one stress crash, and then thousands of chipcardd4 crashes.

I'm using AMD64 and a NVIDIA graphics card. I'm also using the sometimes
troublesome MSI P695 motherboard with JMicron. In addition to this bug,
I've been experiencing weird problems in MythTV and wine, although I
have no reason to believe they're related. I'd be happy to provide any
information that might help. Thank you for your time!
