OK, just to summarize:

 1. you are using a 3G connection
 2. that 3G connection doesnt work when you click on it in the drop
 down menu from the applet?
 3. that 3G connection works if started to edit it in the connection
 editor (which triggers the keyring dialog) and confirmed "always
 allow" there?
