Public bug reported: New install of Intrepid Beta from alternate CD with LVM. Formatted root/boot/swap partitions, used existing home partition.
System boots fine to GDM, however: Attempting to login with GNOME hangs at the light-brown screen. Attempting to login with Failsafe GNOME hangs at the light-brown screen. Attempting to login with Failsafe Terminal succeeds. Used this to nuke .gnome2, .gconf, etc. and apt-get update myself to newest everything. Rebooted. Still no joy.
