I have a similar problem with a Thinkpad X60. When I set nosplash in /boot/grub/menu.lst, the last message I see before hanging is
input: Thinkpad Extra Buttons as /devices/virtual/input/input12 If I turn the wireless switch OFF AND boot into recovery mode, then the boot progresses. This is with Kernel 2.6.27-6. I looked into kern.log and saw the messages upon successful boot. Shortly after that "Extra Buttons" message, there was Oct 9 18:14:02 thinkpad-x60 kernel: [ 63.788696] firmware: requesting iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode Oct 9 18:14:02 thinkpad-x60 kernel: [ 63.868990] iwl3945: Radio disabled by HW RF Kill switch What I didn't see were any entries for the failed boots. -- [Intrepid] Hang at usplash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/271465 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
