as i explained above: 1) download the 8.10 beta iso (if you don't already have that) 2) find a >= 1GB flashdisk and use unetbootin to create burn the iso in 1) to the flash disk 3) boot from the flash disk 4) start ubuntu without the splash screen and tell us if you see any error messages.
