Subject: [Bug 281556] Re: package tzdata 2008e-1ubuntu0.8.04 failed to
install/upgrade: short read in buffer_copy (backend dpkg-deb during
`./usr/share/zoneinfo/right/America/Guyana')
Thanks for your report.
There are many "short read" and "corrupted filesystem tarfile" this is
due to either a corrupted archive (problems occured during download, bad
media, ...) or a corrupted filesystem .
Can you please open a terminal try the following:
$ sudo apt-get clean
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install tzdata
You may also have to finish the previous failed install with :
$ sudo apt-get upgrade
Tell us if it works. Thanks in advance.
