I don't know where to post this, but I'm having the exact same issue
with the Ibex beta. I tried re-installing the whole os, then
reinstalling openoffice, then openoffice.org-ogltrans but the programme
continues to crash (so mdbarton's semi-fix didn't work).
I'm not sure if this is a new problem, but I'm loathe to open a new bug
report: I can't seem to log anything relevant from my machine: apport
doesn't launch, I get nothing if I launch impress from the terminal and
I'm not sure how to trawl system-wide logs for info. So I'm not sure if
I have anything that would help developers to investigate.
I'm running a toshiba satellite u200, with an intel graphics processor (Intel
Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics
Controller [8086:27a6] (rev 03)), and it seems to run compiz, glxgears and the
opengl screensavers without a problem. Oh, and the Openoffice OpenGL
transitions worked perfectly on this machine in Hardy. My video info on
xorg.conf reads:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Option "UseFBDev" "true"
EndSection
(if that's any help).
Advice on how to work this up into a proper bug report (or on whether
that's necessary) would be very much appreciated.
