@Sean: This bug is a new feature with freetype/pango and/or cairo and
ligatures.. so they say.
@Namdung: Your bug is a different issue, and unfortunately for you, it's
a personal preference issue, as David Turner (developer of freetype) and
myself personally prefer the "unpleasant bold" font as it more
accurately shows the shapes of the text, it's not like windows' "full"
hinting which snaps to pixels, try full hinting for that effect... I
prefer the slight-hinting.. If you want "Full" hinting, go one level
deeper into that dialog box in your screenshot, and put full hinting on,
you might like it.
