Binary package hint: vino

Install a command-line 6.10 system, then upgrade to xubuntu-desktop
using apt-get.   Install vino via aptitude, run vino-preferences and
make sure server is enabled.  Log out of desktop, then back in.  "ps
ax|grep vino" confirms that vino server failed to launch.  Reboot box,
same problem.
