Public bug reported:

Since update to 6.10 speed step (cool'n'quiet) does not work on my machine any
more. I use the amd64 distribution and have a Athlon 64 3000+ processor. In
Dapper the processor mainly run at 1 GHz. Now it only runs at 2 GHz.
Here the output from /proc/cpuinfo:

Btw on my notebook with a centrino it still seems to work.
