** Summary changed:

- Hibernate fails on HP OmniBook xe4500
+ Suspend/Hibernate fails on HP OmniBook xe4500

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: acpi-support

On Ubuntu/edgy/i386 (upgraded from dapper, but not customised at all)

- Hibernates fine.
+ Hibernates fine, and Suspends fine.

On start-up, goes through resming fine, but then screen corrupts. (band
of green vert bars at tap, a band of horizontal garbage bars, and a
white band, rest of screen black)

Can be ssh-ed into for around a minute after resume, then crashed during
  a "locate" - I presume memory corruption...

With SAVE_VBE_STATE, VBESTATE, and POST_VIDEO commented out, it didn't
crash on resumption, but it didn't work either.
+
+ Resume from suspend works if it's done very quickly.
