Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

The Unicode Character U0313 COMBINING COMMA ABOVE is not being
recognized in Gnome in Intrepid. It was working in Gutsy and previous
versions of Ubuntu.

You can find this character in the following xkb-data layouts:

 * br(dvorak)
 * ca(shs)
 * gr(polytechnic) - dead_psili

br:    key <AD02> { [        comma,            less,           0x01000329,
 0x01000313 ] };
ca:    key <AB08> {        [ comma, less, U0313    ]    };
gr:    key <AC10> { [ dead_acute, dead_psili  ] }; // ´ ̓

I ran xev and got these results for the

KeyRelease event, serial 29, synthetic NO, window 0x3800001,
    root 0x6f, subw 0x0, time 5805564, (200,-34), root:(212,98),
    state 0x80, keycode 59 (keysym 0x1000313, U0313), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XFilterEvent returns: False

In Gutsy you get the same return values for the keyrelease vent. Does
it have anything to do with the XlookupString returning 0 bytes? I
don't know, I suspect it has something to do with the fact it being a
combinning characters so I looked at the Ukranian Unicode xkb layout
U0301 COMBINinG ACUTE ACCENT doesn't seem to work either.

Here is a list of fonts that have U0313 in them:

 Aboriginal Serif
