This turned into a bit of a saga. The guys at HPLIP had no idea what the problem might be and initially suggested that I install HPLIP v1.6.10 from source. I rapidly ran into dependency hell and gave up.
The next suggestion was a clean install of Edgy (as I had done a dist-upgrade from Dapper). The install went more smoothly than I expected, but didn't solve the problem. However, the clean install DID sort out the dependency problem I had earlier. I installed v1.6.10 from source, and now everything is working properly. -- After Dapper->Edgy upgrade, ADF scans blanks https://launchpad.net/bugs/69067 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
