In my case:
Ubuntu 8.10 beta with all upgrades.
I was browsing waste bucket in gnome when the crash happened. I am a
heavy LaTeX user so I have lots of DVI and PDF files in the waste
bucket, presumably one of them was "nasty" and killed the evince-
thumbnailer. The total number of elements in the trash was of order 750.
