I just checked the debug info and the code, and I cannot really make
sense of this. You said you did get the dialog which asked for
authorization and you entered your password? When I do that here, and
use the right one, it succeeds, and if I use the wrong one, I get a
message box "You are not allowed blabla", but not a crash.
Can you reproduce this error? If you can, does it happen again if you
keep the authorization for the entire session? After it happens, can you
please open a Terminal window and run this command?
polkit-auth | grep com.ubuntu.devicedriver
