Hi!

It worked when I switched to Linux mint, or when I ran it with a hacked module
(attachment) and recompiled the alsa drivers using mercury. This hack brought
all the channels out in alsamixer which was empty before.
I haven’t tried the newest ubuntu edition, but I'm sure it's working now. Quite
many people had this issue as you can see when you search through the ubuntu
fora.
Do you want me to send you an email if I ever try the new ubuntu and if it's
working or not?

Sincerely
Jonas Thoresen

Subject: [Bug 156780] Re: Low sound on Hp Pavillion dv9000

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue
for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
