It looks to me like you've got a locally installed version of matplotlib that
is not allowing the package manager to properly install. If you have the
matplotlib package removed you shouldn't have any matplotlib directory in:
/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/
/usr/share/pyshared/
/usr/share/
Check that those don't exist and if you still have problems reopen this
bug (set the Status to "New"). Thanks.
