I found a solution! Turns out my original attempt at modifying the MTU
size was flawed.
Running the line below completely solves the problem:
sudo /sbin/ifconfig wlan0 mtu 1492
Now, how should the developers go about fixing this? Is simply lowering
the MTU size a reasonable permanent solution?
