How did you install the previous version of bandwidthd ?
Can you please provide the output of the following commands:
$ lsb_release -rd
$ apt-cache policy bandwidthd
Can you also try to remove the package before upgrading with "sudo apt-get
remove bandwidthd" ?
If that fails, then edit the file /etc/init.d/bandwidth and add the line "set
-ex" at the top of it, then run "sudo /etc/init.d/bandwidthd stop" and attach
the output.
