** Description changed:

I have just made a clean install of Intrepid (rsynced a few hours ago).

The installation finishes correctly but when I want to boot on ubuntu, grub
says 'File not found' (referring to /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic).
I have installed it using Wubi but I don't think it's specific to it.

Then I have rebooted under ubuntu hardy and I have mounted root.disk.
There wasn't any file under /boot

It seems like the kernel package hasn't been installed. So, IMO it's
  critical.

+
+ More:
+ I have to add that once wubi finishes, I must reboot in order to ubuntu
configure the system.
+ This part has finished without any problem too (maybe in this part the kernel
was removed (?))
