Further, the problem is actually in sensible-browser, which xdg-open
calls instead of gnome-open because I'm running Openbox.
** Changed in: debianutils (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided => Wishlist
** Changed in: terminator
Status: Incomplete => Invalid
** Summary changed:
- Terminator doesn't honor the "preferred browser" settings
+ sensible-browser doesn't honor the "open on a new tab" option from GNOME's
"preferred applications" settings
** Description changed:
I've "Epiphany" and "New tab" selected on the "Preferred Applications"
- window and gnome-terminal follows them; Terminator, though, uses
- Epiphany but opening a new window.
+ window but sensible-browser opens URLS in Epiphany but in a new window.
+ It would be great if it could detect more advanced settings such as the
+ "in a new tab" option.
- I'm using the version from Intrepid.
+ Also please consider that there are users (like me :P) who use Openbox
+ or other window managers, so if possible this detection shouldn't rely
+ on environment variables set by GNOME, etc.
