I couldn't reproduce the bug. I tried a fresh install of Hardy in VirtualBox with the latest updates. Then I upgraded to Intrepid. VLC was working good with his graphical interface.
So I think that the problem comes from my configuration and my installation. But I don't know where is the problem.
