I can also reproduce this now, which I wasn't able to before for
whatever reason; any change of the hardware kill switch requires a
module unload/reload to reset.
I'm marking the 'hal' task as invalid, since AFAIK we have only the
driver issue remaining, the only hal issue I know of having been dealt
with in bug #267875.
