I think it's really confusing to the user why he / she shouldn't be
using the pulse device for both sound input and output since he / she
sees this device in the drop-down menu.
Using the microphone by directly selecting from one of the 10 (!!)
devices (default, pulse, hdmi, headset + 3x2 HDA Intel) which are
offered to me, does still not work.
The only way I can currently use the sound in in skype is by plugging in
an external microphone on the usb port.
