This is my very first experience with ubuntu, after having used Debian for 6 
years. Sorry for anything silly I'm going to tell you.
I have installed Hardy Heron amd64 (guessing if this is a mistake. The 
processor should be 64 bit capable: intel core 2 duo t5750)
The default kernel seems to have problems with my SATA drive on sis 5513 
chipset.
I have also tried to build a custom kernel 2.6.25.6, but the problem is still 
there. Other things I have tried are disabling acpi at boot and irqpoll. None 
worked.
Symptoms are that the / partition is re-mounted ro and of course nothing is 
possible to do after. Then I must reboot, fsck.ext3 goes crazy 3/5 times and I 
have to fsck manually, pressing enter, enter, enter and so on to all its 
questions. I think this bug is really dangerous for filesystem.
