Public bug reported:
Since very recently (October 15 or 16, 2008) gnome power manager sets
the backlight to level 0 when i'm on battery, instead of going to 50%
(or whatever else is set in GConf). Setting the backlight using the keys
still works, as does the indicator on screen.
