Marcus, I read the same problem in Ubuntu-es forum, with that kernel update in Hardy and a Compaq Presario F700 (with Atheros AR5007EG). The aparently solution is: - Boot in recovery into kernel 2.6.24-21-generic - Uninstall de madwifi driver with: - cd madwifi_directory (madwifi-ng-r2756+ar5007 or another version, like madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6) - sudo make uninstall - Then install de linux-backports-modules for your kernel version. With this package you can use the wifi using the ath5k driver: run - sudo modprobe ath5k if it's necesary.
