I happen to have this network card on a desktop machine: 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller (rev 01) and following the upgrade to Ubuntu Intrepid beta with the 2.6.27 kernel, I'm no longer able to get a DHCP lease. The r8169 module is loaded, nothing crashes, the LED at the RJ connector is on, 'ifconfig -a' shows eth0 after the boot sequence, but somehow the network card seems unable to perform normally. It worked OK with Ubuntu 8.04 and still works OK when booting Intrepid with the old kernel (2.6.24-19-generic) with Lilo. Feel free to ask me details and command outputs if needed. - Daniel
