Public bug reported:

well ... here's the story from the beginning, i had 2 grubs installed one of
them boots and the other gets updated, i didn't care much cause the new kernels
played very scratchy noise , i thought it might be due to the 2 grubs so i
didn't care much to report it
but a few days ago , while i was using the old kernel 2.6.22-14 as usual, and
listening to a song via rhythembox , one of the songs started playing with a
lot of scratching noise just like the one in the new kernels ... later i found
out that only the left speaker makes this noise , the right one is working
perfectly so i have to decrease the left speaker's volume

i dunno which files to post exactly so let me know

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
