Public bug reported:

Hi,

starting a couple of weeks ago, when I cold-boot my Dell Vostro 1000 laptop I
always find it impossible to press and display characters whose code is > 127
(extended ascii), such as ì, è, ò, etc., and also @ (which requires alt-gr),
when I reboot the machine everything works fine,

please tell me whether to attach any output to this bug report,

thanks, MZ
