Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox
This bug appears on amd64 running fully updated intrepid beta, firefox version 3.0.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu1. The situation was more correctly handled in hardy, so I view it as a regression. When clicking on a link to a .torrent file, the save/open dialog that appears only has the choice to open with "Transmission BitTorrent Client (default)", even though I have installed another bittorrent client (Deluge, deluge-torrent.org) and marked it as the default application to open .torrent files with in nautilus. Steps to reproduce: 1) download a torrent file (e.g. http://www.mininova.org/get/1923199 ), selecting to save it, not open it 2) install latest version of deluge bittorrent client from http://deluge-torrent.org/ 3) right click on the torrent file in nautilus and select Properties > Open With > Deluge 4) close and reopen firefox 5) click on the torrent link again in firefox to bring up the save/open dialog Expected result: In hardy, the "open with" option changed to the default application to open that type of file. Actual result: "open with" still has the option for "Transmission BitTorrent Client (default)", and there is a strange new "firefox-3-0-3" option which is unable to open the file. Deluge is not listed at all. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- firefox "open with" dialog does not include the default application https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/286150 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
