Public bug reported: Wireless activity LED indicator on Acer Aspire 5520 laptop does not work, it stays off all the time.
This can be fixed by entering following rows in /etc/rc.local sysctl -w dev.wifi0.ledpin=3 sysctl -w dev.wifi0.softled=1 as explained here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/AcerAspire5520#WirelessLed but it appears the switches will be removed in newer kernels. The same thing is known to happen on AspireOne that uses same wireless adapter, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/284474 (not sure if this should be marked as duplicated). ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Acer Aspire 5520 wireless activity LED indicator does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/286270 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
