What's "2.6.27-7.12"? Is that an Ubuntu kernel, or a Linux kernel?
I'm now running "2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Fri Oct 17 22:24:21 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux" (without the .12), and there are no further updates available. Is that the version that has fixed the bug for you? I can't tell right away because I'm using the blacklict&modprobe workaround. Is it safe / worthwile to remove that workaround?
