Public bug reported:

Set taskbar to autohide

Login to Pidgin or any other IM

Let someone send you a message

Pidgin starts flashing the taskbar icon

taskbar does not come in to visible area to notify user of an
application (Skype/ Pidgin) that needs attention

1. Auto hide the taskbar
2. Mute the speaker (before someone says, just crank up the volume and pidgin /
<whatever> will make a sound when u get new messages
3. Work ... be notified by a flashing taskbar icon for the app when it wants my
attention

I like it that way. Taskbar doesnt take up space or pose a distraction.
I do my work. on new IM, it flashes ...
