This is not a bug in Ubuntu then and we can not support this kind of
issue.

however to remove a package you can either user synaptic or the command line 
tools "apt-get remove" or "aptitude purge".
Then to fix your issue, you can try to reinstall the package with "sudo apt-get 
install --reinstall sun-java6-jdk"
