Public bug reported:
I have a Belkin F9T013xx1 bluetooth USB dongle, which works perfectly in
Windows XP using the Belkin driver.
It was working before, I think on Ubuntu 6.10 or maybe 7.04. After that
it stopped working, and I never bothered to find out why because I
didn't really need it. Now I am on 8.10 beta, and I decided to try
again, and it is still not working.
I have tried various USB ports, and every time I plug in the device the
blue LED lights up for a few seconds and then switches off. The dmesg
output is as follows:
[ 2285.272049] usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6
[ 2285.392113] usb 1-2: device descriptor read/64, error -71

[ 2287.328637] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2
I have various other USB devices connected, like an external HD and a
webcam, and they work fine. The computer is a HP Pavilion dv1668ea
laptop with 4 usb ports, of which one is occupied by the embedded
webcam.
