Public bug reported:

Hi, I have a 1gig swap partition and this partition is never used even
if I have no more memory available so the system freeze completely but
the swap partition is always at 0% used

this is the part of dmesg who speak about the swap partition:

[17179592.808000] Adding 1277128k swap on
/dev/disk/by-uuid/0a7267a7-a6d2-4a8d-95b8-c9353e03d8d5. Priority:-1 extents:1
across:1277128k
[17179808.676000] Adding 1277128k swap on /dev/sda8. Priority:-2 extents:1
across:1277128k

and this is the information of top:

Mem: 1034528k total, 708660k used, 325868k free, 84728k buffers
Swap: 1277128k total, 0k used, 1277128k free, 333064k cached

Naturally I can't put my computer in hibernation due to this problem.

My computer is slow because nothing can be put in swap. It's a major
problem for me. Everything was working dine with dapper. I never had
this problem before. I tried to swapoff/swapon and to reformat the
partition but nothing change.
