Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synaptic

selecting kernel 2.6.27-7 will boot system and get stock. Selecting kernel
2.6.24-19 boot system without problems.
Can tell what is the cause of the problem, now if you press the control key
during the boot sequence the system comes up without problems.
All programs work, but I have to do more movie ripping to be sure.
