Public bug reported:

Launch the xubuntu 6.10 "alternate installer" and select "text"
installer.

Proceed until reaching the screen requiring partitions to be allocated.
The installer shows the entire hard disk as the sole partition and the
only way to proceed is to wipe the existing partition table and re-
partition.

Partitions not seen:
sda1, sda3, sda4 - ext3 (there is no sda2)
sda5 - Linux swap
sda6 - xfs
sda7, sda8 - native Linux

Several threads on the forum report similar experiences. Installers
which have recognised the partitions include Mandriva 2006 and 2007,
PCLinuxOS, Zenwalk, Sabayon and Fedora.

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
